Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary is not a typical nurse. She’s dangerous, looks innocent, but she’s good in her favorite stuff: giving lethal injections. The patient is half man/half robot and is having the time of his life, for the short time what’s left for him. Because of his activity, his machinehead is smoking, he’s definitely hot. He has a bodyguard, always looking for the unexpected to be happen. He too is not aware of Bloody Mary, only you know now what’s going to happen. Will she succeed in her job? The picture is a matte painting. I photographed the people and the bed. All the rest is painted and rendered in photoshop: walls, floor, city, sky, airplane, pipe, screen…

Hello folks,

Some good news. Some of my work is published in Advanced Photoshop. Yep, it feels nice. For my next project, I’m gonna make a combination of matte painting and photography. Once it’s finished, you’ll be the first one to hear!

Platinum: image conception studio!

Hi hi hi there,

Some awesome retouchingskills, very good photoshop and 3d knowledge, a bit of humor, a different artvision and nice combinations of colors make you get addicted to pictures from platinumfmd. This site is one of my favorite and is listed on top of my list. Yes, truly amazing, you really start to believe you’r in a digital reality, another world. Everything is so fine-tuned that you have to say ‘wow’.

Dimitri Daniloff

Dimitri Daniloff is one of the photographers who’s able to captivate the essence of a story. It’s a strange combination of contrasts, humor, clever concepts and (sometimes simple but) high-end graphics. Oh man, i love it, just google him or look at his site and get overwhelmed by stunning pictures.

United colors of elephant

nemo01.jpg

Hi there,

Some while ago i created a project where colors were the main subject. It had to be surrealistic, strange and meaningful.

The whole idea is the fake Nemo, painted or created by a stranger in the sea (the fake elephantfish) in a fake sea, fake sand, fake light… In my first idea, i placed a sign beneath the elephant where he painted ‘hello stranger’ on it. Allthough the elephant is the only stranger in the sea, trying to imitate the fish (colors on skin), he writes ‘hello stranger’ to the fish. The fishes are confused and look with a big disbelief to the awesome animal: ‘who the f*** is the real fish around here?’.

After some testing, it seemed to be too difficult (some colleagues didn’t got the clue, jeeeeezus), and it was lacking some color. So, with the domination of the blue color, i decided to add some red color for increasing the contrast. And so Nemo was born. I painted the original fish, added some dropping paint…

The whole pictures is made with one elephant (changed the position of the leggs to let him swim), one fish (changed size and form) and one brush (so the elephant could paint). The other details are created in photoshop.

paint with light

Hi folks,

I had some fun with this picture. I did some nice painting with light (painted a lot to get this wanted effect), changed the background and added some details. You can see below the original picture.

We’ll keep in touch.

Bill Simone

Hi there,

I want to tell you about a great photographer Bill Simone. You have to check his site. He loves to play with light and is very good with photoshop. He has a nice painting style in his pictures, something you see more over the last years. But his work is much more than just some photoshop; everything is well balanced and well thought. His blog shows some interesting information. His latest tutorial ‘Boxing anyone?’ is worth mentioning. Look and enjoy.

Noah’s Ark

Hello there,

Here is some new work: Noah’s Ark II.

It took me a HUGE amount of time. It’s a BIG file (5705 x 3886 pixels at 300 ppi, 127 layers, 1,3 giga). There are a lot of details in it, many animals, color corrections, … you really should see it on hires ;-). Of course: all the parts are original pictures taken by me, therefore i visited several animalfarms… (the stars and scatterings are brushes, but you already knew it).
I’ll post the pic for now and will add some comments (made of) afterwards. Feel free to ask.

Original snowboarding

Hi there,

A while ago i had some fun shooting snowboarders in my free time: so i didn’t have my lightning equipment with me and it was an indoor place at Landgraaf. Nice stuff over there and those snowboarders were fast, really fast. Oh yeah, me feet were frozen, but after some cups of coffee and hot gluhwines things went better ;-)

I was lucky to shoot two guys jumping in the air on the same time. I panned, but the pics are a bit blurred (at 100% view). I couldn’t freeze them well with my only light (580ex). You need at least three to four lights to do it right, but, as i said, i had some free time.

The composition is not very good (hand cut of), but yeah, it’s a nice image, not? Let me tell you some more details of my post-production.

land01.jpg

To make it more clear for you, i put some details in the picture. I know, i added some holes in the board to make it surrealistic. Did you ever see one like this? Just try it and you’ll be eating snow. The extra lights were very important to emphases the road behind (extra feeling of movement).Watch the holes carefully. Painted (cloned) new background, new lights too. The (bad) original pictures (please don’t look at it ;-) )
