LOOKit design
Had some fun with 3d. It was my first try-out in modo 301, great software. I added some stone-texture on it and placed it outside. Postproduction with photoshop cs4.

Here is the original field:

Here the 3d model (modo 301):

Added some rock-texture.

I projected the image in the 3d model, but the result was not what i expected, there was some blur in the background image. Therefore i placed the model in photoshop into the background, shadows included.

Increased contrast, colors…

Added some trees. These or not 3d models, but look a bit surrrealistic, just what i was looking for.

Made some layer masks, so the ingration of the model is correct.

Some nice colorfull detail: butterflies

some postproduction.
Here are some details:

UFO problems
Hi hi,
It has been a long time since my last post, but, yeah, time is always too short, huh?
For this project, i worked with some wonderful people: Frederik Hamelynck (photography) and Daniel Hanze (3D design). Both guys are really wonderfull to work with, and, the good news, we’r planning to do some other projects for a customer. When those are finished, i’ll let you know.
Maybe you’r interested in the making of this picture.
First of all, the problem was the shop and the logo’s of the shop. The client really wanted no changes at all in the visualisation (except for 1 logo on the wall), so, we were not allowed to modify his shop to make it more abstract, modern looking, cooler, other colors… Therefore we decided to make a night-shot, so we could make it more surrealistic and special. We started with an HDR-image so we could alternate with light and darkness in the street. For our ufo, we made a 360° image from the place were the ufo would be placed. This way, we used the 360° hdri-image for the rendering of the ufo.
The picture was a 16-bit file and 1,7 Gig.
Cheers!

Prison Café
Hi there, time for some new work after a nice long vacation.
I’ve made some pictures of the making of this shoot, with more details (see below). If you have some questions, don’t hesitate to ask me.
Hope you like it.
Regards,
Kristof
EDIT:
I changed the texture of the pipes of the fence. The new picture is on top. Maybe you noticed, the texture wasn’t completely correct, so i changed it. I also changed the ceiling: made it more natural concrete with texture. For me much better… Wow, this was my last change, up to some next projects. I have some great ideas and assignments coming!

Bloody Mary
Bloody Mary is not a typical nurse. She’s dangerous, looks innocent, but she’s good in her favorite stuff: giving lethal injections. The patient is half man/half robot and is having the time of his life, for the short time what’s left for him. Because of his activity, his machinehead is smoking, he’s definitely hot. He has a bodyguard, always looking for the unexpected to be happen. He too is not aware of Bloody Mary, only you know now what’s going to happen. Will she succeed in her job? The picture is a matte painting. I photographed the people and the bed. All the rest is painted and rendered in photoshop: walls, floor, city, sky, airplane, pipe, screen…
